About Me
I am very excited to be part of the NC3 Environmental Group. My wife Konny and our four children have attended NCCC for 11 years and have been so very blessed by our church community. We have been active in small group leadership, men and women's ministry leadership and small groups, and have opened our home to be used for jr high and high school gatherings. Konny is a free-lance writer and also works for NCCC in the Ministry through Sports and In-Service areas. I have been in leadership roles in the nonprofit sector for my entire career...mostly in the international humanitarian arena. I have worked for World Vision International, Operation Blessing International, MAP International, Project Concern International and Direct Relief International. It is because of my work in poverty alleviation worldwide that I began to see the profound connection between poverty and environmental degradation. Wherever poverty existed the local environment was also degraded and vice versa. The solution to both was to step up and engage the communities to more effectively steward HIS creation...both the people and the environment. Sustainable development was/is the solution... While at World Vision I had a leadership role which allowed me to focus attention on these areas and was privileged to be one of the founders of the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN), The National Religious Partnership for the Environment (NRPE), and The Green Cross. I have also had the opportunity of being very engaged in the community of Carlsbad, as a member and Chairman of the Board of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation. I am also currently on the Board of Advisors for The International Community Foundation, Kids-vs-Global Warming, The Global Oceanic Foundation and Plant with Purpose.
